The Wii's success...and will it continue

As a Wii owner, and occasional player (at least at this moment), I will say that I have drifted away from the Wii fun that it originally marketed, and switched to playing the PS3 for the majority of the time. Yet I am not like the 50 million world wide have bought the Wii over the 28 million of the xbox 360 and 23 million of the PS3 as of this year. I think this is due to not only the people like me, who play a lot of games of multiple genres, and were really fascinated by the wii and were willing to give it a shot a shot at first, but also the more casual game crowd being drawn in to the wii's interface and "diverse" set of games.

My own experience with the Wii is interesting. When I first got it I couldn't wait to play Brawl with my friends. Then as my classes (and also my buddies') increased in difficulty, I was stuck with the wii with no games that I could play with the small time I did have. I couldn't afford to spend 40 or 50 dollars on a single player game with no online modes, only to have it be a let down. Then came the Wii fit which I was into for a short while... only to find out that I could do all of the exercises without the board. I then got a tremendous deal on a PS3 and couldn't resist the opportunity to escape from my Wii (but I'm really hoping for a comeback Nintendo).

As for the Wii's future? I really hope that they market to the family gamer and to the hardcore gamer, yet I think that will take a new console. But over time, I think the market will fade for the Wii, and as people find the flaws that I have found more and more annoying, with no real fixes by nintendo, I think people may move elsewhere...maybe to the PC?
